The Strip Polishing Operator I - D Shift will be responsible for Electro-Polishing all needle types using strip polishing lines. Set up and process material through the on-line annealer. Use Tinius Olsen machine to test for proper annealing. Start-up, monitor, process troubleshoot of all strip polishing equipment. Perform required attributes and variable test on needles. Perform all functions of the job by using Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and MFG-PRO. Respool cardio and PS needles. Perform voltage checks on machines. Assist with Preventative Maintenance as needed. Assist process engineers/facilitators in troubleshooting and process improvement activities.

The Strip Polishing Operator will also perform other work related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator. Follow current compliance regulations and standards that comply with all federal regulated programs. Understand and follow specification requirements. Ensure safe working conditions and practices within the department. Follow written specifications to manufacture product. Demonstrate ability to consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's). Support Ethicon Production System (EPS) by identifying, evaluating and resolving problems. Understand and adhere to Ethicon Production System (EPS) Principles and Rules. Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality systems. Support Plant Diversity Process. Participate in STOP program.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of operator experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of CIM and MFG-PRO systems preferred. Knowledge of KANBANS preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical problem solving skills. Basic mechanical skills required. Welding experience preferred. Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment preferred. Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals and fractions, required. Must have the ability to perform inspections using microscopes. Experience working with acids and solvents preferred. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and various processes and coordinate with other departments to effectively perform job duties. The ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds unaided and stand, walk and/or kneel more than 80% of the time is required. Must be able to work D shift (7:00 pm - 7:00 am). The ability to work occasional overtime, including weekends and some holidays is required.
