Description

Title: Six Sigma Productivity Manager

Role Overview

The Six Sigma Productivity Manager is responsible for driving key strategic business process improvement for the Cluster, for leading the development and management of the Cluster-level Six Sigma Program, and for the management of the Cluster CIP Initiative. He/She will lead, analyze, design, and improve business processes by enlisting and influencing cross-functional and cross-site teams, delivering tangible business results through the application of Six Sigma and Lean principles, methodologies and tools. Utilizing their business, leadership and technical skills, the Six Sigma Productivity Manager will both execute projects and mentor and coach team members and target groups within the Cluster.

Major Responsibilities

Manage the DePuy Six Sigma and Dex programs and actively collaborate with MD&D Process Excellence team to ensure alignment and consistency of approach.

Responsible for deploying Process Excellence methodologies (Six Sigma, Design Excellence (DeX), Lean) through effective training, coaching and mentoring. Primary tactical focus on the North American DePuy facilities.

Responsible for working with plant leaders in identifying business opportunities to improve process quality, delivery and cost performance.

Facilitate cross-functional alignment on Quality, Delivery and Cost improvement objectives.

To facilitate the proper allocation of resources with the right priorities and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, Design Excellence) to meet the Cluster's objectives for each planning cycle.

Consolidate, manage and present cost improvement analysis, and review with manufacturing leadership staff during the monthly Cluster Review.

Complete financial, quality compliance, technical and regulatory assessments for improvement projects with significant impact on strategic Quality, Delivery and Cost improvement goals.

Lead projects that optimize value for multiple plants and end-to-end value streams.

Scope of Responsibilities

Enables the DePuy Cluster organization to develop best practices to reduce process variation and the local organization to execute Quality, Delivery and Cost improvement projects

Drives continuous improvement and transformational results through the end-to-end value streams of the DePuy Cluster

Facilitates review of project the strategic projects' objectives, assumptions, and validation decisions.

Facilitates project portfolio reviews with the manufacturing leadership staff and provides clear line of sight to Actual vs Target performance.

Experience and Key Competencies

Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Experience in developing and executing Change Management plans is preferred

Experience with Statistical Process Control, process characterization, ANOVA, DOE, Hypothesis Testing, pFMEA's and/or dFMEA's is required.

Experience in a highly regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc) is a requirement.

Prior experience in leading a team of technical resources (engineers, technicians) is preferred

Experienced as instructor and practitioner of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology is required

Experienced as instructor and practitioner of DMADV methodology is required

Experienced as instructor and practitioner of Lean DMAIC is preferred

Exigences

Education

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required in an Engineering or Science discipline.

Six Sigma certification as Black Belt or Master Black Belt

Lean certification as a Master Black Belt preferred

An advanced degree, such an MS or an MBA is preferred.
