Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Instrument/Electrical Lead will be responsible for directing, supervising and training front line Instrument & Electrical technical personnel in the repair and maintenance of field process instrument and electrical equipment in a safe and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities
* Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC''s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.
* Supervise the Instrumentation & Electrical employee craftsmen and the associated contract staff on shift
* Provide leadership and contribute to all HSE efforts in day-to-day activities.
* Schedule and coordinate daily activities with other groups (operations, A&OI, I/E, Engineering) to maximize the use of available resources and minimize downtime.
* Ensure that all tools, supplies and equipment are available to maximize the efficiency of individual craftsmen activities and Maintenance workshop activities
* Work closely with the Maintenance Planners/Schedulers to establish the priority and timing of the I/E work activities throughout the facility
* Provide input to Planners/Schedulers in task list development for maintenance plans, items and work orders
* Responsible for developing I/E maintenance procedures (SSMP - Site Specific Maintenance Procedures)
* Ensure that all Maintenance Workorder shop papers are fully and accurately completed in order to maintain SAP equipment and work plan records.
* Evaluate and assess the technical abilities of I&E employees and identify any training requirements
* Coach, counsel, and motivate employees so they may achieve their maximum potential.
* Provide input to ensure critical spares are available and stocking levels are correct.
* Maximize production by leading and participating in RCFA's to eliminate repeat failures.
* Provide input for the development and continuous improvement of the Predictive/Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program
* Take primary responsibility for management of the Electrical Quality Management Program (QMP) including accurate and timely record keeping
* Participate in the On-line Network of Excellence (NoE) Production Surveillance & Optimization FET and Maintenance and Reliability FET providing support, questions and or suggestions
**NOTE: This is a site based rotational position (14/14)**
**NOTE: This position will initially be based in Calgary and then transition to site in 2013**
Qualifications:
Basic/Required Qualifications
* Minimum 5-10 years Maintenance (Instrumentation, Electrical) experience, with valid inter-provincial journeyman certification.
* Dual trade certification is desirable
* Minimum 5 - 10 years Oil &/or Gas field experience
*
Extensive operational, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in industrial low and medium voltage electrical systems, VFD's, PLC's, basic and advanced electronic instrumentation and oil and gas measurement and control devices.
*
Thorough knowledge of automated safety systems, Cause & Effect Charts and SAFE chart analysis.
* Legally permitted to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
Critical Skills
* Strong computer skills (MS Office)
* Demonstrates a strong commitment to exemplary safety and environmental work practices.
* Ability to train, evaluate and supervise employees.
* Ability and willingness to work hands-on alongside the technicians being supervised due to the small workforce.
* A true understanding and commitment to HSE leadership, and CPC's core values.
* Exceptional leadership skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Strong organizational and time management skills
