Managerial consulting supports senior leadership by addressing strategic issues, including determining the problem definition and structuring the problem solving approach, generally where no precedent currently exists. Issues span several topics and are not restricted to one functional area. Examples include strategy development, market assessments, policy issues, profitability assessments and major implementations. Issues support senior leadership in the definition and attainment of organizational goals. Managerial Consultant provides consulting, project management, and analytic support services for a broad array of issues. May assist senior consultants or manage complex projects independently.
Essential Functions:
- Defines and frames complex multi-dimensional strategic management issues and develops time tables/processes for decision making.
- Translates needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and action plans.
- Coordinates team/project activities and schedules.
- Researches key business issues and directs the collecting and analyzing of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Synthesizes analysis and identifies key findings.
- Assists in the determination of goals and priorities with team, clients, or project management sponsors.
- Establishes team membership and project participant.
- Develops proposals for clients outlining proposed project structure, approach, and work plan.
- Provides staff leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as manages work of outside consultants when used.
- Formulates specific implementation plans and evaluates the effectiveness of actions/programs implemented.
- Communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors.
- Develops creative alternative solutions.
- Recommends action steps to team and client.
- Plans and facilitates meetings.
- Makes formal presentations to various senior level audiences.
- Transfers project team knowledge/tools to client.
- Participates in the development and management of the department, including coaching, recruiting, conducting performance reviews for analysts, and other departmental activities.
Secondary Functions:
- Participate as key member of a User Experience team through the product development cycle
- Develop creative consumer web design with emphasis on branding
- Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions following current standards
- Document new functionality and standards
- Maintain a thorough understanding of backend systems and capabilities
- Develop application maps, process flows, wire frames and mockups with accompanying interaction rules (think UI specification) based on a synthesis of user needs, technical restrictions and requirements and business goals/needs
- Ensure designs follow visual standards as well as enhance user experience
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically four (4) or more years of related analytical and/or consulting experience required, healthcare experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, health care administration, operations research, public health administration, or other related field, OR equivalent related work experience required.
- Specific expertise required as specified.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of data systems.
- Must demonstrate effective communication, consulting, interpersonal, presentation, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or related field a plus.
- 5-7 years experience - web user interface/interaction design
- 1-2 years experience - responsive web design
- Creative experience in consumer web design with emphasis on branding
- Understands the importance of web site performance and is motivated to design for extreme optimization and User Experience
- Information architecture experience (strategic planning and diagrammatic skills)
- A deep understanding of how basic design principles are applied to the web
- Excellent Photoshop skills; CSS/HTML proficiency a plus
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and deal with workload peaks without compromising standards.
- Ability to work independently and build strong relationships with functional team partners
- Strong interest in creating simple intuitive design concepts
