The Category Manager develops critical insights and solutions for their assigned chain account(s) to grow the size and the value of the customers beer category, while capturing a
disproportionate share of growth. This position addresses complex business opportunities by leveraging multiple data
sources, tools and analytics, shopper insights, along with a deep understanding of the TBA category and the retail environment.
Critical to the Category Manager role is the ability to synthesize their insights and solutions into rationally persuasive communications. This work is done collaboratively with the account selling team(s) to build strong relationships between MillerCoors and our retail and distributor partners and realize our mutual business objectives. Defining Business Opportunities
ôº Understanding the category, channel and shopper through the use of MillerCoors data, and Syndicated Data such as Homescan, Spectra, Nielsen and FeatureVision
ôº Understanding the retailers strategy, business needs, and goals
Streamline MillerCoors Obectives and Channel Strategies
ôº Incorporate consumer/shopper insights and behavior into analysis and insights
ôº Synthesize all insights into selling story, category and business reviews
ôº Work collaboratively with account team(s) on sales call approach and plans
ôº Apply MillerCoors category management standards
ôº Coach chain team on data access and application
Implement MillerCoors retail solutions with customers
ôº Deliver Category Management presentations to retailers and distributors to build partnerships and grow category
ôº Deliver Space Management presentations in order to sell in MillerCoors space and assortment strategy
ôº Develop customer category plans collaboratively with the retailer and distributors
ôº Work with sales team and retailer to create integrated scorecard(s)
Data Management and Analysis
ôº Post program results analysis
ôº Utilize space and assortment tools to optimize retailers category and meet the MillerCoors goals
ôº Own the Retail Reset process through project management and planogram creation/validation as needed
ôº Bachelors Degree required
ôº Minimum of 3 years data analysis / category management experience within a consumer goods company is required
ôº Sales experience is a big plus
ôº Strong MS Office skills specifically with advanced features
ôº Proven ability to use data and analytics to develop insights.
ôº Use of consumption databases such as Nielsen, IRI
ôº Familiar with consumer panel data and shopper data i.e. Nielsen Homescan, dunnhumby, Spectra
ôº Understands tools and techniques to merchandise and market at retail.
ôº Knowledge and skills to prepare for and participate in the selling process
