Job Text

Lead strategies and future direction of MillerCoors Safety and Health programs and management practices.  Manage all safety and health activities, including regulatory compliance efforts, support workers compensation administration, protection of Company assets and security of personnel. 

 

Engages leaders and employees of the RMBC in a way that improves plant performance by reducing the risk of safety incidents and providing tools and systems that deliver safety performance. Provides advisory and consultative services to RMBC personnel to support operational ownership of safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

 

Facilitates and leads the RMBC’s efforts in safety education, enforcement, engineering, behavior and cultural focus. Supports the safety culture process by consistently demonstrating and promoting caring, leadership, trustworthiness, visibility and integrity in their implementation of safe, systemic work practices.  

Develops and implements safety programs, policies and procedures for the purpose of prevention of injuries and near misses. Aligns RMBC goals for increased safety, reliability and maximum operability with proven solutions that integrate process safety data, applications, diagnostics and critical control strategies.

 

Responsible for environmental compliance program to ensure permits are maintained, requirements and conditions are met at site. Requires environmental regulatory experience such as Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC). The position will work closely with the Engineering team to develop, review, and oversee storm water, wastewater, solid waste, and air quality management programs to support permitting, operations, and when needed re-permitting actions.  

 

Is responsible for adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs and related MillerCoors Quality Management System including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of MillerCoors products.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

1. Develops and implements safety programs, policies and procedures.

2. Provides advisory and consultative services to RMBC personnel.

3. Conducts analysis of hazards, safety statistics and recommends corrective measures and plan modifications.

4. Consults and supports RMBC on safety culture process.

5. Coordinates all safety regulatory compliance requirements.

6. Leads team performance, talent, and career management and creates a culture of employee engagement.

7. Coordinate with technical team and engineering consultants to ensure that environmental and permitting considerations are adequately addressed during engineering and design.

8. As needed incorporate engineering data into permit applications, and to complete data reports to support permitting. 

9. Develop, maintain, and oversee site storm water and wastewater systems.    

10.   Develop/provide expertise in the field of air emissions and controls.

11.   Maintain permit and regulatory compliance:  Title V, Storm water, Sold Waste.     

12.   Participate in regulatory meetings and serve as subject matter expert for engineering related issues.   

13.   Provide training to all employees on compliance requirements.

Education level / experience:

 

· BS or BA in safety, engineering, or related field; advanced degree or Certified Safety Professional status preferred.

 

· Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing leading and improving safety performance and regulatory compliance.

 

· 2 – 5 years of experience in environmental engineering, environmental science, or compliance.

 

· Experience in Title V and PSD permitting, permit compliance and compliance testing for criteria and hazardous air pollutants is preferred.

 

Skills / Knowledge:

 

· Ability to understand and communicate technical aspects of water quality, waste management, and solid waste requirements.

 

· Advanced knowledge of all aspects of employee safety and health.

 

· Advanced knowledge of Federal Occupational Safety & Health Act, applicable state laws; and safety and health related American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Safety Testing Materials (ASTM), and the American Society Mechanical Engineers (ASME). 

 

· Thorough knowledge of workers compensation administration and Federal and state regulatory requirements.

 

· Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and company policies and thorough knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, monitoring strategies, and control procedures. 

 

· Knowledge of procedures and techniques related to protection of Company assets and personnel.

 

· Working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing concepts.

 

· Excellent managerial and motivational skills, analytical abilities, written and oral communication skills, dispute resolution techniques, and ability to transfer knowledge and expertise through effective group presentations.
