The Assembly Technician II is responsible for performing elementary and routine tasks in preparation for medical device assembly. This person places parts in specified relationship to each other per written documentation, assembles products according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs), operates machines of limited complexity to perform assembly process on assembly line. The Assembly Technician II must be proficient at multiple tasks within a work center, have the ability to work on an assembly line where tasks vary as different models of the same article moves along the line. This person conducts quality inspection of their own or other employee's work, with responsibility for meeting or exceeding all established quality standards, and is expected to comply with GMPs, ISO, Safety, SOPs and other manufacturing related documentation. The Technician maintains a clean and orderly workstation, may train other operators, may work with engineers on pilot runs of assemblies, may perform assembly of custom products, may enter "lot" information into Manufacturing System (PC), properly complete manufacturing documentation, and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or completed GED and six (6) months to one (1 ½) and a half years of related experience and/or training, the ability to train others, the ability to identify necessary changes to documentation, and exemplifies good teamwork and communication skills. The Technician needs to know and apply manufacturing guidelines per the line design and do so independently. Candidates that know Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and have microscope experience are preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong manual dexterity with their hands and fingers. The technician will be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Qualified candidates should have the ability to commute daily to the Irwindale, CA facility.
