THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® is a brand new state-of-the-art facility offering education and product training for eye care professionals. Dedicated to promoting learning, debate, conversation and higher standards of professionalism, the institute gives you the opportunity to enjoy collaborative, peer-to-peer learning in a relaxed and rewarding environment.

We are currently looking to recruit the Manager of the institute to take overall responsibility and accountability for the management of THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® in the UK including the facility, development of education courses and their delivery.

THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® in UK has been open now for 3 years and over 5,000 ECPs have attended classes there. In addition the institute website has 7000 registered users. The role of this job is to manage the facility, courses and the UK website. The incumbent will need to develop an intimate knowledge of the education needs of ECPs across the region and stay up to date with the most current educational methods. The incumbent will have to build strong working relationships with management teams and Key Opinion Leaders, and will effectively manage THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® ensuring that it is managed efficiently and effectively.

To do this you will:

Have expertise in optometric education with particular emphasis on contact lens practice

Understand the educational needs of ECPs across multiple markets with an emphasis on those in the UK.

Understand the most current education options and methods of training healthcare professionals.

Your main responsibilites will include:

Managing the effective running of THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® within budget.

Developing relationships with key professional organisations.Key Metrics:

Net promoter score.

Number of attendees

Capacity utilization

Management to agreed budgets

Qualifications


Knowledge / Experience / Skills required

Essential

-
UK GOC registered Optometrist / CL Optician with post graduate qualification / training in contact lens practice

Experience in training / communication to Eye Care Professionals.

Experience in working with Key opinion leaders.

Managing a department/business or conferences.

Ability to write/communicate in English.

Outstanding collaboration/communication skills.

Methodical process driven approach to work.
