Position Overview
The Intermediate IA Engineer supports the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) and the Chief IA Engineer for the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) for the Missile Defense Agency. The position is part of a small team of security experts supporting multiple facets of IA and cyber security. The Intermediate IA Engineer must have experience and subject matter expertise to meet the diverse needs of the government customer. Responsibilities include studies and analysis, documentation review, engineering planning and design, architectural oversight, certification and accreditation support, incident assistance, integration of IA into the development process, IA requirements definition and governance. The position provides these services in accordance with DoDI 8500.1E, Information Assurance, DoDI 8500.2,IA Implementation, DoDI 8510.01 - Defense Information Assurance Certification & Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and DoD 8570.01M - Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
Responsibilities:
- Applying IA/DISA Best Practices (including IA in Mission and R&D environments)
- Security Risk Management and product evaluations
- DoD DITSCAP/DIACAP
- IA Architecture, obtaining connection authority, Cross Domain Solution requirements and implementation, physical security, vulnerability assessments, threat definitions and analysis, mitigations and countermeasures, and risk assessments
- National and DoD standards guiding the development of IA policy, requirements, integration, engineering, certification and accreditation.
- Broad technical, management, engineering experience in IA/cyber security with demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities and to author technical documents and communicate and conduct formal reviews
Individual must:
- Be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written skills
- Be articulate in reporting issues, stating impacts and recommending corrective actions
- Be capable of working with minimal oversight in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Perform extensive travel required, both CONUS and OCONUS
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor degree
- 5 + years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with automated tools such as Retina, Gold Disk and SRR and IAVM Program and Patch Management
- CISSP, GSLC, CISM Cerifications
- Knowledge on use of VMS, DKO and e-MASS and DoDI 8500.1 standards
- Proof of US citizenship required
- Active Top Secret clearance required
