Kaiser Permanente seeks I.T. Solution Consultants to support our Hospital, Quality, and Care Delivery business partners. In this highly visible role, the consultant will translate client's business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs for large complex IT solutions while integrating I.T. and business architectures. Participation and contribution in Industry, KP, and KPIT wide initiatives is also expected in the areas of data usage and governance, information management, privacy and security, SOA, data analytics and visualization, information modeling, and data access controls.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented collaborative professional who knows how to independently deliver results in a matrixed and virtual work environment. He or she will be a customer focused creative problem solver whose professional background includes health care information systems and/or informatics. Clinicians with an I.T. background are strongly encouraged to consider this opportunity.


Essential Functions:
Scope
o Manage projects $: up to $50M including multiple sites or regions, or up to 20 interdependent work tracks.
Business Case Development
o Directs the development of comprehensive and strategic business cases with cost/benefit dimensions of proposed projects that are used at management and executive levels for funding and scope decisions.
Consulting and Operations Analysis
o Provides integrated systems planning and recommends alternative technologies that will enhance current or anticipated information systems that support overall corporate and business goals.
o Directs the analysis of enterprise-wide or very complex client needs in project areas such as new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.
o Provides data and business intelligence infrastructure guidance and recommendations
o Directs/conducts the analysis of current business processes and functional requirements and recommends 'To Be' processes and supporting technologies.
o Influences cross-functional and/or cross-divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and system specifications.
Project Execution
o Consult on implementation of solution recommendations in business area.
o Consults with senior client sponsors and other KP leadership to inform and promote successful project development and implementation within the organization

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in solutions consulting including defining requirements, developing solution alternatives and estimates and translating client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex IT solutions.
Experience in health care informatics, data warehouse and business intelligence tools and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor in Nursing or Health Informatics
Master Degree in Information Systems, Health Care Informatics, MBA or MPH
Health Care Quality and Patient Safety and Risk Management experience and knowledge a plus
