GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for operating and maintaining a scanner to image incoming claims documents in a timely manner to meet or exceed department quality and production standards. Serves as a training resource and mentor as needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Logs and scans batches of paper claim forms, correspondence and checks. Batches hard copies in sequential order according to scan date or specific customer requirements. Monitors machine performance.
- Verifies all batches have been scanned and released for processing.
- May prepare batches of documents for destruction.
- May assist in miscellaneous duties such as opening, sorting and batching mail.
- May use a computer to correct errors on rejected forms or return forms to customer.
- Acts independently and manages own activities with minimal supervision and direction using sound decision making.
- Uses good judgment and logic in evaluating and resolving difficult issues.
- Maintains production and quality standards.
- Serves as a training resource and mentor to others, particularly new hires. Shares best practices.
- Continuously seeks avenues for growing professional expertise and actively pursues new learning opportunities, which support the company's goals and objectives.
- Promotes a positive team environment; acknowledges others' contribution and provides positive feedback.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 1-2 years data entry or equivalent experience.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated effective keyboard skills; able to navigate with a computer/systems-dependent environment without assistance; experience in a window-based computer environment preferred.
