Unix Systems Engineer - Night Shift
The core shift hours for this position will be:

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 pm - 6:30 am MST

Provides technical support for network; UNIX/Windows hardware and software. Evaluates new tools and technologies for network. Manages network vendor relationships; and problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintains network; UNIX/Windows hardware operating systems; systems management software and Storage Area Network hardware and software.
- Works closely with clients; vendors; and other technical staff to identify and resolve issues or problems that impact the network.
- Consults with clients and other technical staff on network; UNIX; implementation; or maintenance issues.
- Provides technical support for network; UNIX/Windows application development.
- Researches; evaluates; and recommends new tools and technologies for network.
- Works with Senior Network/Systems Administrators on design and implementation of network systems.
- Performs other duties as required. Qualifications:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (3-5 years) experience in UNIX/Windows as a systems administrator.
- Previous experience in a distributed processing environment.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting RDBMS and LAN/WAN networks.
- Significant knowledge and technical understanding of O/S and network technologies.
- Excellent consultative and communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and other technical staff.
