DePuy Synthes develops and markets products under DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., DePuy Synthes Spine, Inc., Codman & Shurtleff, Inc., DePuy Mitek, and Synthes Trauma. The role of the Design Quality Engineer is to provide technical quality engineering leadership to the business in order to ensure the highest levels of product quality, process, and systems integrity to the end customer. In this role you will:

•Work in a design team setting.
•Support new product development and design through design verification activity.
•Support design control activities for new product development efforts.
•Develop risk assessment, inspection methodology and acceptance criteria for inspection sample plans and conduct audits of new suppliers as part of the project teams.
•Provide leadership in the understanding of medical device regulations to other disciplines.
•Communicate effectively at all levels within Quality as well as cross functionally with departments such as R&D, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Marketing
•Excel in an environment that embraces teamwork, change, risk-based decision-making and flexibility

Qualifications


•A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Scientific discipline is required (MS degree in a related field is an asset)
•Knowledge of the Design Controls, and ISO quality requirements is required (FDA/ QSR experience an asset)
•Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills will be required
•Interpersonal skills that foster conflict resolution as it relates to technical situations will be required
•A minimum of 4-6 year (work, internship, co-op, etc.) is preferred
•Quality Engineering experience is preferred
•Experience conducting Process / Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis is an asset
•Experience with Blueprint reading/literacy including GD&T is an asset
•Mechanical product Knowledge is preferred
•Familiarity with inspection methods and techniques is an asset

This position will be based in Oberdorf/ Basel Landschaft, Switzerland, and will require 5-10% travel.
