Description

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNeil-PPC, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manager, Supplier Quality, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, PediaCare® upper respiratory medicines for infants and children, ROLAIDS® antacid products, ST. JOSEPH® Adult Regimen Aspirin, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.

The Manager, Supplier Quality is responsible and accountable for the successful development, deployment, and implementation of the McNeil SQM strategy and associated policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that deliver quality/compliance, cost, and/or operating benefit to the supply chain. Actively partners with stakeholders, individuals and teams, and external suppliers to implement innovative solutions and continuous improvements with demonstrated and measurable business results. The skills and expertise of these individuals fuel the SQM power plant that maintains overall supplier quality and service at required levels of expectation and drives efficiency and effectiveness solutions and outcomes for McNeil's supplier-related systems, processes, procedures, and specifications.

Manager, Supplier Quality, under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, the Companies' policies, procedures and guidelines, this position will deploy and execute SQM objectives, strategies, policies, procedures, programs, initiatives and projects that deliver quality/compliance, cost, and/or operating benefit to the supply chain. He/she will partner with and leverage the activities of individuals and teams to successfully develop and implement innovative solutions and continuous improvements with demonstrated and measurable business results. The Manager will assist in the development of chemical specifications and associated supplier quality and service expectations and will ensure the consistency and standardization of specification/expectation communication to suppliers through the development and execution of Quality Agreements. The individual will ensure the alignment of supplier specifications/expectations to McNeil in-coming, in-process and final product specifications, procedures, and policies.

Manager, Supplier Quality is responsible for monitoring the on-going quality/compliance and service performance of secondary package component suppliers, developing and over-seeing the deployment of targeted improvement plans (TIP), if required. Position actively works with suppliers' senior-level management to review on-going performance, to develop and implement quality systems, processes, and procedures, to ensure capable and sufficient resources are applied to gap and improvement plans, and to identify and drive improvement activities. Position actively works with Plant Level Supplier Focus Teams to provide timely resolutions to supplier-related issues consistent with site compliance and business objectives. Partners with and leverages the activities of site Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Project Management, Operations teams, and external suppliers for the continuous improvement of chemical quality and performance. Position to assume other duties and responsibilities as identified by supervisor and mutually agreed upon.

Manager, Supplier Quality will ensure quality and compliance in all actions by attending GMP training on the schedule designated for role and as appropriate for role, adhere to strict compliance with procedures applicable to role, exercise the highest level of integrity in the tasks performed in a timely and prompt manner. Identify, report, and seek correction for deviations noted in workplace. Embrace a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time. Ensure employees under scope of responsibility are trained in required procedures for the execution of their role and maintain current with training requirements during the year. Promote an environment of employee involvement in the workplace. Seek prompt identification, reporting and correction of deviations in the workplace as noted by employees.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor degree in a technical, scientific, or related/equivalent discipline is required. A minimum of 5 years of responsibility and experience in a GMP product manufacturing plant environment required including a broad and deep working knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug product operating functions of quality and compliance, supply chain, material supply and material handling and control, product manufacturing, and product packaging. 8 years of pharmaceutical drug product industry (or related industry) experience is required. Detailed understanding and application of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Agency compliance expectations required. Working understanding and application of statistics and process control/capability tools is preferred. Knowledge of International Regulations is preferred. Professionally recognized certification in Quality Engineering, Management of Quality & Organizational Excellence, Quality Auditing, or Process Excellence-Six Sigma is preferred. Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft office Suite of applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) required. Working understanding and application of SAP software required.

Demonstrated leadership skills to achieve results through others - with and without direct authority is required. An ability to develop and implement strategy/initiative based on business needs is a must. Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills to comprehend technical data/information and convert them into value-added actionable items is required.

This position will require up to 35% mostly domestic travel. This position will be based in Fort Washington, PA.
