Description

The company also provides contract management, logistics and supply chain functions for the major Johnson & Johnson franchises.
Johnson & Johnson Customer & Logistics Services (CLS) is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across all of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. They currently have a position open for a Senior engineer in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Senior Engineer will perform a variety of engineering functions. This will require a wide diversity of advanced technical knowledge to include process improvement and support of the introduction of new equipment and products into the distribution environment. Ensures that distribution equipment meets company specifications, schedules and budgets. Takes primary position in activities involved with sub-contractors from beginning of design process, through installation and start-up. Coordinates and influences engineers or technicians as necessary to achieve project completion. Acts as an advocate for continuous improvement of technology and process by providing regular hands-on technical expertise in trouble shooting and repair as well as training for technicians specific to current and future technology: mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.
Adheres to all company and governmental safety and regulatory requirements in support of all departmental objectives.
Plans, conducts and directs equipment engineering assignments for operational support in the areas of up-time, cycle time and through-put. Regularly participates in hands-on troubleshooting and resolving equipment, systems and process problems to determine root cause and prevent reoccurrence. Provides guidance to process engineers and technicians in troubleshooting efforts.
Identifies key opportunities to develop and implement equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency, through-put and safety. Designs experimental protocols using statistical tools to determine process response to controllable factors. Identifies key areas of opportunity and provides or coordinates technical training / re-training for operations personnel, quality personnel, engineers and technicians.
Lead the planning and execution of major projects involved with process improvement and new equipment. Will lead efforts for site and vendor acceptance testing and equipment qualification to meet project objectives and government standards.
Prepares equipment, process, safety and materials specifications and conducts technical analysis of vendor proposals. Drafts scope of work, temporary protocol or other documentation as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering required. Mechanical, electrical or industrial preferred.
4+ years of engineering experience in equipment development, installation is a requirement.
Project Management is preferred.
3+ years of working in an FDA environment in distribution, manufacturing or related field is required.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication is required.
Statistical design and analysis experience is a requirement.
Ability to develop strong operational partnerships across all functions and shifts is very important.
Excellent computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point is a requirement.
Skills/Abilities Preferred:
Strong familiarity with supporting a large, high-volume distribution or manufacturing environment and all related engineering activities is preferred.
Strong, hands-on technical abilities in controls, electrical, mechanical applications is required.
Ability to help plan and complete electrical, controls and mechanical repairs, changes and projects is preferred
Serve as liaison between Memphis Logistics Center and outside contractors to assist with larger scale electrical, controls or equipment
Projects.
Demonstrated ability to recognize, follow and train others to SOPS, current electrical safety practices per NEC and
OSHA requirements and regulations for maintenance activities
Excellent collaboration skills. Team member/leader with the ability to contribute positively to team morale
This is a fast paced, fun and exciting position and will require excellent flexibility/sense of urgency (Takes direction and accomplishes tasks quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality).
Excellent computer skills to include 2D & 3D CAD software experience, CMMS (Maximo, MP2, etc) is Preferred
Ability to perform tasks requiring physical abilities as noted in the section below
Physical Demands:
Able to lift at least 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
Able to stand and/or walk on concrete floors 95% of the time
Able to bend/twist; perform repetitive tasks
Demonstrated ability to use all job-related equipment
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment at 2 to 8 C (35 to 46 F) for 2 hours or more at a time
Ability to work in a freezer at -30 to -20 C (-4 to -22 F) for up to 1 hour at a time (this requirement needs to be reviewed and approved by Safety)
Limited travel (up to 15%) both Domestic and International may be required
