Position Highlights:

  • The Gift Shop Store Manager oversees all aspects of the Woman’s Board Gift Shops, including inventory procurement and management, personnel management, sales, and financial management of two stores.

  • Excellent opportunity for person who enjoys assuming much responsibiltiy in a friendly smaller retail enviroment

Position Responsibilities:

  • Define product assortment to maximize sales, control inventory to maximize gross margin and increase product turnover.

  • Track all inventory using Microsoft Retail Management System (RMS), compile inventory and sales reports and adjust inventory levels as needed.

  • Continually monitor sales reports and react accordingly to maximize profitability.

  • Oversee the management of new and existing vendors

  • Develop marketing strategies, creative merchandise displays and sales techniques to increase customer base and better serve current and potential customer base.

  • Manage full time and part time employees. Oversee training, scheduling, time management and personnel development.

  • Provide essential leadership to build a cohesive staff that has a strong sense of customer service, product knowledge and motivation.

  • Oversee a substantial budget. Ensure that the proper balance and mix of inventory is maintained to meet/exceed sales goals, obtain gross margin goals, and maximize inventory turn.

Position Qualifications Include:

  • College degree preferred, ideally with concentration in Marketing or Business

  • Retail merchandising and management experience, preferably in a gift store setting

  • Excellent marketing abilities

  • Buying and inventory management experience with financial acumen in retail math formulas and practices

  • Personnel management experience with strong leadership, team building and communication skills.
