Essential Functions:
- Process referrals for service as required by agency.
- Assist department staff with scheduling, staffing, tracking and problem solving functions.
- Maintains clinical records.
- Accuracy in filing to meet regulatory compliance.
- Performs reception duties for the agency.
- Monitors and maintains stock levels and integrity of office equipment and supplies and medical equipment and supplies.
- Records and processes patient statistical and billing information.
- Operates information systems as required by agency work for meeting regulatory compliance.
- Effectively plans and organizes work assignments, sets priorities and completes work with a minimum of supervision per agency policy.
- Communicates with internal and external customers.
- Maintains clear communication between Home Care Department and medical center staff, patients, families and community agencies as indicated.
- Assist in the logging of statistical data.
- Xeroxes, collates and distributes materials as required.
- Performs other clerical duties assigned.
- Behaves in a courteous professional manner with patients, health professionals and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Adheres to the service policy and principles of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center Program.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- One year experience working in a medical office setting handling patient calls and records within the last five years required.
- Must have knowledge of and experience working in a windows based computer system.
- Demostrate ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Must have proven history of providing service to patients in a courteous, caring manner.
- Ability to type 40wpm and passing of medical terminology test.
- Must be willing to work in a labor-management partnership environment.
Skills Testing: Typing (40wpm), medical terminology.
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
