GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for managing operational projects by analyzing and documenting existing business processes and providing recommendations to senior leadership to streamline operations and improve operational and financial effectiveness. Collaborates with operations and business leaders to create, plan, and implement
change management initiatives. Resolves issues as required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the analysis and documentation of existing business processes and workflows in operational projects to identify process improvement areas and provide recommendations and re-designed workflows to senior leadership to drive maximum operational and financial effectiveness.
- Creates and/or facilitates process design changes in support of change management initiatives by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating the changes to impacted business teams.
- Develops testing plans with operations business leaders and user groups to analyze the impact of operations and technical enhancements.
- Partners with Finance on business planning and return on investment analysis to determine the cost/benefit of business process changes.
- Assists in the execution of operational audits. Reviews and evaluates business processes to ensure ongoing compliance. Works to align business processes and procedures with internal controls.
- Develops cross-functional relationships and works effectively with business teams, technical leaders, developers, and technical operations on technology plans and related initiatives.
- Provides leadership in implementing and maintaining departmental processes, identifying and resolving departmental issues, and directing, guiding, and supporting the staff in the performance of their responsibilities.
- Provides input into the development of the department budget. Controls expenses while meeting service requirements.
- Recruits, develops, and motivates staff. Initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions including employment, termination, performance reviews, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (7–10 years) experience in health care, managed care, and/or insurance industry.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience in business process analysis and change management.
- Previous (1-3 years) supervisory or project lead experience required.
- Ability to initiate and drive change.
- Demonstrated process and project management ability.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
