The Technical Analyst provides Information Technology user support to all hospital departments and to other Methodist entities as needed by serving as a focal point for communication as it relates to Help desk, Desktop Support, Data network infrastructure, and Database infrastructure.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Resolve Basic computer hardware, software and peripheral problems as reported by end users and be their primary source of IT support. (EF)
2. Work with IT personnel in other groups within the IT Division to solve end user problems as needed. Escalate difficult problems to supervisor or other IT groups as appropriate while remaining in contact with the customer until acceptable resolution occurs. (EF)
3. Document, track and follow-up on all problems and requests assigned to him/her. (EF)
4. Complete all job related duties as assigned in a timely manner. (EF)
5. Proactively researches appropriate knowledgebase's for security updates and patches as applicable to locally administered systems. Coordinates testing and installation procedures with direct supervisor, CRC committee and other appropriate local and IT Division personnel to assure the highest level of system performance and security. (EF)
6. Coordinate installation of physician remote access via virtual private network connectivity and subsequent training of physicians on use of the Hospital Information System in the physician's office environment in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and laws (Stark). (EF)
7. In conjunction with direct supervisor, perform project implementations and system upgrades as needed. Assists in managing the project plan and budgets associated within technical scope of project. (EF)
8. Respond to requests in a friendly, cooperative manner. Demonstrate proper and professional telephone and personal etiquette. Demonstrate effective listening and communication skills. Provide superior customer service. (EF)
9. Rotates on-call responsibilities as requested. (EF)
Experience - External:
Education / Experience:
1. Bachelors Degree preferred.
2. A+, MCSE, CCIE certification preferred.
3. 3+ years experience in hardware, software and network troubleshooting required.
4. Working knowledge of Network operating systems, Data network infrastructure, Database network infrastructure, and Customer service delivery.
5. Ability to perform installs/moves/changes on printers and PC's.
6. Technical proficiency, including:
a. MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FrontPage
b. Windows Server NT, 2000, 2003 and Active Directory
c. Microsoft's Visio and Project.
d. Administration of Microsoft's Sharepoint.
e. Cisco's IOS.
f. Virtual Private Network connectivity concepts and demonstrable ability to troubleshoot VPN connections at remote locations.
g. TCP/IP protocol, network communications, DNS, WINS, DHCP administration and computer hardware/software.
h. Basic knowledge of print server configuration, modification and operation schemes.
7. Professional communications skills with the proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
Hospital IT experience preferred.
