Responsible for patient focused, quality, effective, efficient care and service behaviors of staff supporting the practices of physicians and other medical providers. Accountable for role clarity, communication, and performance management of staff so that the staff is best able to participate successfully as members of care teams. Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing patient focused nursing care and related medical services in support of the physician practices in the medical offices. Partners with the physician leaders in creating a culture of commitment to patient focused service, excellent support of physician practices, innovation, compliance, ethics and integrity. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Responds appropriately, including required reporting, to observed fraud or abuse.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises, leads, role models and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing excellent patient focused care and supporting physician practices through the provision of integrated, effective and innovative practices and related medical services.
- Interviews, selects, evaluates, motivates, orients, trains, coaches/counsels, disciplines and terminates unit personnel in collaboration with physician leaders and in compliance with requirements of EEO/AA goals, union contracts, and personnel policies of the organization. Continually improves service and staff productivity.
- Improves quality in partnership with CPMG.
- Monitors, identifies and investigates competency issues and service or support deficits associated with daily operations and overall patient care within the unit(s) and develops and administers corrective measures in collaboration with Permanente physicians to ensure safe and efficient working conditions.
- Acts as a liaison between the physician group, the patient care unit, hospitals and the call center to ensure effective communication for overall patient care services.
- Collaborates with other facility leaders to design systems for providing high quality patient care services.
- Ensures highest standards and monitors clinical practice and documentation within the department to meet and/or exceed appropriate licensing/accrediting agency guidelines and/or standards.
- Is accountable for outstanding support of physician practices.
- The mid-level manager collaborates with the physician and the physician manager and the manager(s) of the department(s) in managing labor relations.
- Coordinates and adheres to budgetary needs for operation of the unit in collaboration with medical group leaders.
- Monitors quality assurance projects in collaboration with physician group.
- Maintain current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser Permanente policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
-Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Nurse, preferably with the KP medical care program.
- Completion of an accredited program for Physician Assistants or Associates, current certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and current licensure (or eligibility) in the State of Colorado, OR.
- Completion of an accredited program for Nurse Practitioners or Advanced Practice Nursing in a discipline relevant to the work group they will supervise, current licensure (or eligibility) as an RN and enrollment (or eligibility) in the Advanced Practice Registry in the State of Colorado.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or coordinate the activities of staff in a clinical setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code required at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of successful experience in a leadership role preferred.
Position will manage mid-levels at all locations for General Surgery, Urology, Department of Vascular Surgery and Bariatrics.
May work some nights and weekends. Floats between facilities/departments/locations.
Salary Range: $38.22- $53.46 Hourly
