Supports the Sales, Account management teams in the selling and contract renewal process through timely and accurate entry of Rate Quote Request (RQR) into the BETS operating system. Improves efficiency with an analysis of the rate request for completeness, benefit relativity to prior renewals and strategic direction for benefits in the marketplace. Improves effectiveness of the quoting process by applying an understanding of benefit relationships and benefit codes to the quoting process.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for rate quotes system entry as requested by local and national accounts. Provides support for quoting, pricing and benefits systems. Serves as primary contact to sales and account management for quoting process issues.
- Responds to routine internal inquiries regarding group contracts, benefits and rates using technical knowledge of Health Plan policies and procedures, and basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Ensures all quoted rates are calculated, reviewed and corrected for groups.
- Recommends and implements improvements to BETS RQR processes. Troubleshoots and resolves problems within parameters of position. Refers complex or other problems to supervisor.
- Assists in gathering, analysis, and presentation of information from internal BETS sources to answer requests for information. Prepares scheduled and special reports for release. Responds to concerns from various customers regarding content of reports. Provides technical interpretations of rating practices and data content to customers.
- Collaborates with others on issues requiring shared accountability and/or decision-making. Shares accountability for outcomes (i.e., performance measures and goals).
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Two years clerical experience.
- Associates degree or equivalent related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral communication, written communication, interpersonal influence, customer service, teamwork, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and mainframe operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years clerical experience in health care or HMO setting.
- Six months experience with prepaid medical program.
- Associates degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
- Knowledge of HMO rating methodology.
- Knowledge of Kaiser health plan benefits and system.
- Knowledge of mainframe applications relating to Health Plan data.
