The Intermediate Project Manager II will support the Kaiser Permanente Individual and Family Health Care Reform preparedness specifically in the California region. This position will lead and provide expert technical leadership to multi-faceted individual and/or team based projects. The Intermediate Project Manager II will also set strategic direction of projects, develop and communicate project plans, facilitate meetings, and gather feedback.
Specific job duties are as follows:
- Act as the liaison between the business and IT
- Provide high quality and cost effective project management, analytic support services and technical expertise for broad array of issues
- Work on projects broad in scope and may involve multiple functional areas and/or span across service areas
- Gather business requirements and work closely with IT to implement changes
- Support the development of solutions
- Develop the project plan
- Identify project metrics
- Manage the tracking of interdependencies (start to finish relationships) within the project
- Provide professional / technical guidance to team members
- Communicate project / task purpose
- Tracks and reports on project deliverable status and may manage variances
- Manage the communication plan
- Manage issue escalation and the resolution process as needed
- Prepare content for presentations
- Manage project close-out activities
- May conduct post-implementation review
- Determine resource requirements and procure resources
- Assign work, set priorities, provide guidance in the completion of tasks, and review deliverables
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years or more project management experience
- 4 year degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Must understand all project life cycle phases and apply knowledge in the delivery of at least one phase of the project delivery life cycle
- Significant knowledge of policies, practices and systems
- Understand use of change management process - resources, schedule, scope-for assigned project
Preferred:
- Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel and Access
- Exemplary interpersonal skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
