Under supervision, maintains efficient operation of the health education center & provides program support & assistance to the department & internal & external customers.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the daily operations of the health education center
- Assists members, physicians, staff, instructors, & community in utilization of health education services
- Assesses individual needs, consults, & recommends resources & referrals
- Maintains & recommends updates of all multi-media health information resources, including inventory, ordering, & database management of all materials
- Manages & schedules logistics for classes & programs
- Coordinates conference room use, tracks attendance statistics, & enrolls members & the community for classes
- Supervises & trains health education volunteer staff
- Assists in processing & tracking financial documents, e.g., revenue cost centers, class fees, etc.
- Supports the development of departmental strategic goals & priorities
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Other Duties:
- This position supports the South Sacramento Employee Wellness Program. Successful candidate will support the employee wellness team in designing, implementing and evaluating wellness programs and activities.
- Additional responsibilities include maintaining program database and assisting with outreach activities to employees.
-Position requires some evening hours to support wellness activities for evening/night shift employees.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year full time or 2 years part time experience in the last 5 years in Health Education or a customer/patient service area in a health care setting
- Previous experience in customer/patient service area in a health care setting required
- Associates of Arts required or equivalent years of experience (3 years)
- Bachelor of Arts preferred in health care related field
- Knowledge of PC applications required
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in working with corporate employee wellness programs desirable.
Skills Testing: MS office suite
