Job description
This position is for a Junior Network System Engineer to support high availability production systems in a Federal security compliant data center. The position will assist in technical engineering programs to implement and maintain network operations support tools. The candidate will work closely with Linux and Windows OS, application, and middleware teams to support Windows based product installations, customizations, and deployments. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Network support including hardware and software installations and upgrades, diagnosis and trouble-shooting network components, routing and switching, access lists and load balancing. Work will be performed out of the DC Metro Area, and may include occasional travel to Boulder Colorado.
It is also expected that new hires live within a reasonable commuting distance (generally 50 mi or less) of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Hartford, CT; Houston, TX; Kansas City, MO; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY and surrounding areas; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Washington, DC. Exceptions may be considered.

Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 3 years experience in network engineering.
- At least 3 years experience in basic to intermediate troubleshooting of IP based networks and using network diagnostics tools.
- U.S. citizenship required
- English: Basic knowledge
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years experience in network component images and hardware installation and upgrades.
- At least 3 years experience in network switch, router, and firewall configuration, DNS zone file creation and application.
- At least 3 years experience in network security.
- At least 1 year experience in supporting a production data center.
- At least 1 year experience in Cisco.
- At least 1 year experience in Microsoft Visio.
- Security clearance of Secret - Active
- English : Intermediate
