Role of Performance Architect:
Responsible for the validation of application architecture performance measures and reporting to assure quality performance is met for all applications prior to promotion to their respective production environment. The candidate will have a key role working closely with the application architects to get key details for workflows and their expected performance per business and key stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities
· Review requirements and workflows early in the SDLC to gather and document performance expectations
· Define best practices for QA regarding load, performance and stress testing, leveraging industry standards
· Create detailed metrics for all of the performance initiatives that will transpire during the QA phase of projects
· Act as a conduit for QA and key stakeholders, reporting performance measures and recommendations prior to completion of the QA initiative
· Continuously seek process improvements to create more robust performance testing activities
· Create baselines for applications, where performance measures are expected, assuring that there is an initial performance measure set and socialized with key stakeholders
· Build and refine Industry Standards and Best Practices for capturing Non-functional requirements that are both insightful and actionable with respect to online and batch system performance.
· Create resource and capacity plans providing estimates for cost and time to management
· Present to senior leadership findings, suggestions, impacts and Cost Benefit Analysis of the performance testing initiatives
· Leverage current team to build out performance suite, using defined workflows and act as an internal consultant to assist the team with solutions
· Develop a repeatable process for the performance initiative seeking continuous process improvement
· Analyze technology, industry, market trends and emerging business practices to determine their potential benefit and impact on the success of our organization
· Review and approve technical design proposals submitted by application teams in consultation with business, BA and PM teams
· Create a governance to the Performance Testing initiatives which will become part of the Test Management Organization (TMO) moving forward
· Must work closely with stakeholders to get buy-in to the process and tools for the Performance Testing initiatives
Required Qualifications / Experience
· A college or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
· Minimum three (5) years experience with Performance Testing, including scripting, planning and design
· HP Tool suite expertise including:
o ALM
o Quality Center (QC)
o QTP (Unified Functional Testing)
o LoadRunner (Performance Center
· Experience in driving, creating and managing performance testing initiatives for complex applications
· Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies required
· Excellent communications is required
· Experience with creation of detailed metrics and dashboards is required
· Experience reporting to Executive level management is preferred
· Experience and knowledge of Insurance applications is a plus
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience in a quality assurance and/or testing environment.
- Previous experience using test management tools required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development life cycle.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of common desktop software tools including MS Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
