JOB TITLE: QA MANUFACTURINGTECHNOLOGIST

(12 month Secondment)

DEPARTMENT: Quality Systems Department

REPORTS TO: QA Manufacturing Team Leader

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide support in relevant value stream

___________________________________________________________________________

ORGANISATIONAL INTERFACES:

All disciplines within the Manufacturing Facility, Suppliers & Staff from other DePuy companies

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuous Improvement Focus
- Actively support all Value Stream and Plant goals and objectives.
- Work as an integral member of Value Stream Process Excellence initiatives
- Support Introduction of lean initiatives
- Reviewing daily scrap and reprocessing, inputting data into appropriate database & trending.
- Identify and lead projects to resolve scrap, reprocessing and special causes that have a negative impact on the

Value Stream.
- Review product on hold, determining disposition as required.
- Work to reduce recurring issues as observed through Product on hold trends
- Compile Quality Process Specifications for new/transferred products/processes and update of existing procedures

as necessary.
- Validate new/changed production processes/systems with Value Stream personnel
- Conduct internal Quality System Audits as necessary
- Participates in process evaluations (e.g. FMEAs).
- Support Quality System activities within value streams and across the site such as Behaviour Based Compliance

Assessments, complaint

investigations, close call investigations, NCR's and CAPA's.
- Perform/document dimensional/visual inspections and non conformance and deviations as required
- Administer Operator Inspection programme and provide initial training certification as required on an ongoing

basis to support objectives.

Ensure appropriate training has been completed
- Resolve problems & eliminate constraints to ensure project targets are met.
- Ensure that all relevant Quality Data is recorded, reported and actioned in an efficient manner. (Scrap, MRR etc.)
- Represent QA manufacturing at monthly CAPA meeting.
- Ensure that all DHRs are complete and accurate via appropriate system controls
- Identify and carry out required Quality training
- Ensure the plant complies with GMP, ISO and QSR requirements.
- Ensure all manufacturing changes are performed in a compliant manner.
- Ensure effective and timely communications both oral and written (weekly/monthly written reports and

Project updates.
- Support preparation of and maintenance of Quality Process Specifications (QPS) and CSOP's.
- Represent Quality as required.
- Maintain standard of housekeeping & GMP requirements
- Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled.

Qualifications


ESSENTIAL: City & Guilds Certificate in Quality Assurance/Equivalent

Minimum 2 years experience of inspecting mechanical/plastic parts.

Basic PC Skills

DESIRABLE: Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications.

Familiarity in areas of various Inspection Techniques.

Working knowledge of Quality Systems (FDA/ISO) within a regulated environment.
