Johnson & Johnson DePuy Spine, one of the world leading manufacturers of implants for the surgical treatment of spine disorders, has an opportunity for a student placement to work in their Research and Development department in Le Locle (Switzerland). The principle role of the Le Locle site is the design, manufacture and supply of spinal implants and associated surgical instruments.

Responsibilities
- Work as part of the international R&D team on developing new medical spinal orthopaedic products, as well as supporting existing products
- Handle technical and project management activities to support projects from concept to commercialization
- Perform concept development, CAD modeling, drafting, tolerance analysis, mechanical testing
- Perform project management and documentation of the design history file process in order to meet the industry's high standards for safety and efficacy of medical devices

Qualifications

- Strong University mechanical engineering degree background
- Trained in the use of a CAD package (ideally Unigraphics)
- Internship experienced in biomechanics/mechanics with technical/project management/teamwork elements would be beneficial
- Able to communicate in English and French
- Motivation to drive projects
