The position of Senior Analyst Royalties is responsible for all aspects of administering third party royalty agreements with partners and key vendors. Some specific requirements include: Ensuring the accurate and timely review, calculation and payment/receipt of all royalties for assigned US Pharmaceutical operating companies. This includes the following responsibilities: Understanding all applicable royalty expense and income license agreements. Ensuring all quarterly, semi-annual, and annual royalty payments and royalty reporting are made in accordance with the terms of the license agreements. This includes accuracy of calculations for each royalty agreement and payment; timely processing of payment allowing for payment approval timelines and Intl. Wire deadlines; accurately completing and submitting royalty reports to the licensor in accordance with format prescribed in the license agreement. Ensuring that posting of royalty payments to SAP is performed timely and accurately. For all royalty income receipts, partnering with GFS or Financial Reporting teams responsible for processing of bank receipt transactions to ensure correct reporting of royalty income in SAP. Actual and Forecast royalty expense and income calculations and manage royalty balance sheet accounts. Ensure timely and accurate accrual calculations and journal entry posting for actual close cycles. Complete balance sheet account reconciliations on all royalty related accounts. Ensure timely and accurate royalty calculations for all forecast cycles and LRFP. Partner with Beerse royalty group to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all systems royalty submissions into FSF. Conduct annual impairment testing of Intangible Assets. Drive process improvements and develop analyses and metrics to enhance decision making and visibility into key issues. Partner with Beerse royalty team to harmonize and improve global royalty processes. Partner with legal in ensuring that the current interpretations of royalty agreements are aligned with current legal thinking. Partner with external legal counsel in providing financial information in support of patent litigation activities.

The Senior Financial Analyst Royalties must be proficient in extracting relevant financial information from legal contracts. Highly organized and very detail-oriented. Self-starter comfortable with working independently. Proven business partnership / relationship building. Strong analytical & modeling skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to lead cross-functional efforts to streamline/re-engineer processes

Qualifications


A minimum of a bachelors degree is required preferably a major in Accounting or Finance. A MBA is preferred. A CPA, CMA, CFE, MBA or other financial certifications are preferred. A minimum of three (3) years finance or related business experience is required. Audit related experience is a plus. Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products industries as well as public accounting is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required and the candidate must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel), conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required. Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
