BabyCenter is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to create and maintain reporting, forecasting models, dashboards and other analytics related to its business. This individual will have responsibility for supporting our core content and product development infrastructure, as well as leading the capital process. The right person will be able to collaborate with business partners to transform operational data into insights, create working models to foresee challenges and influence others to action. We are seeking someone with demonstrated analytical experience who can operate independently and proactively, can contribute ideas and thought leadership, and who can successfully interact with executive management as well as various levels throughout the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

The Senior Financial Analyst will participate in the monthly closing process including P&L and balance sheet account variance review and analysis. Own aspects of corporate submissions and J&J financial reporting. Prepare and perform monthly BVA analysis with various levels of management. Oversee the Capital budgeting including leadership of the Capital Steering Committee, capitalization/reconciliation of assets, tracking of capital project spend, quarterly analyses and periodic reviews. This role will support financial needs of the BabyCenter infrastructure, including content and communities and associated Edit, Engineering, PM and IT departments as well as those departments that fall within the scope of General & Administrative expense.

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with cross-functional business counterparts to develop annual business plans for expense, capital and headcount and analyze year-to-date performance and historical trends. They must collaborate with responsible parties to develop action plans to close any identified gaps. Financial updates in accordance with the J&J financial calendar. Perform intercompany transactions with affiliate companies. Lead, innovate and execute a range of value creating projects to drive superior business results. Ad hoc projects include data analysis, insights generation and communication of results. Actively manage SOX Control Documentation and participate in SOX testing and audit activities as needed. Perform SOX compliance activities across other responsibilities as outlined by compliance documentation.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Finance or Accounting. A minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, reporting and planning is required. Experience with SOX compliance is preferred. A track record of successfully delivering analyses that drive tactical and strategic decision making is required. The ability to work with large amounts of information and synthesize trends and insights and communicate findings to an executive audience is required. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint including the ability to create and use complex models is required. Database or SalesForce.com experience is a plus. SAP experience preferred. CPA or CMA is preferred. A highly organized, proactive and passionate individual that enjoys the opportunity to work in fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with broad range of responsibility is preferred.
