Medical Devices & Diagnostics Global Services, L.L.C., Global Supply Chain organization is recruiting for a Procurement Manager. This position can be based at an MD&D Facility preferably in Somerville, NJ and Cincinnati, OH.

Reporting to the MD&D Plastic Category Director, the Procurement Manager - Plastics will support the sector in achieving contemporary best practice sourcing processes and delivery of results for the category. He/She will help develop and drive the category strategy for the Sector and provide overall coordination, facilitation and enablement of programs that will drive best practice category leadership and will leverage MD&D's position in their category.
The Procurement Manager will be a key leader within the Plastics category team. This individual is expected to provide a practical and intellectual understanding of the global MD&D plastics materials space and its supply chain in order to provide a combination of improvements to the category strategic and hands-on leadership for program execution.

Major Responsibilities
The Procurement Manager - Plastics will be responsible for developing elements of the category strategy and driving implementation across the MD&D Sector. He / she will support development of commodity strategies that will meet the future needs of the Company, drive best practices and be responsible for delivering robust year on year productivity gains across the category. Additional responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing strong business relationships to establish and manage supplier partnerships & to positively contribute to the efficiency of Supply Chain and R&D.
Provide oversight on execution in sourcing plastics for the sector. Communicate, monitor, and aggressively manage compliance with the sourcing strategy or business process.
Lead best in class sourcing activities including commodity management.
Deliver YOY productivity savings.
Identify opportunities to upgrade Supplier skills through areas such as technology, process improvements, lean and others.
Manages supplier capabilities including but not limited to capacity planning, tooling and resource investments including inventory management.
Participate in industry research and market surveys in order to stay current with best in class strategic sourcing practices and customer demands.
Overall systems capability analysis in support of the supply chain.
Lead a global category team and conduct regular business reviews with suppliers.
Work with Advanced Sourcing Leads to enable a robust pipeline of materials for new projects.
Monitor and benchmark existing supply base within the global marketplace.
Provide plastic commodities guidance on cost, futures and availability across the sector.
Critical Success Factors or Scope or Responsibilities
Lead the assigned strategies and suppliers to achieve best in class performance within the industry. He/She will be responsible for driving strategy and execution within the Plastic category for the MD&D Sector.
Qualifications
Minimum of BS Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations Management or related field required.
MBA or Masters preferred.
CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) or CPM, (Certified Purchasing Manager preferred).
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain or technical role within a high volume-manufacturing environment required.
1 year in Category Experience required.
2 years in Plastic category preferred.
Experience with Plastics materials and design is highly desirable.
Proven ability to influence/collaborate required.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills required.
Expertise in Operations, Logistics, Planning, and Forecasting required.
Analytical-absorb information & solve complex problems quickly required.
Leadership: setting direction, influencing, goal alignment, lead & influence others in a matrix organization required.
Computer Literate required.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills required.

This position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.
