The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the compliance to regulations governing the import and export activities and processes which include the receiving, shipping, export, import documentation, reconciliation, record keeping, manufacturing, destruction and/or material disposition, reporting, exhibition, physical and procedural security for all products and materials managed under Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), and/or are imported/exported outside of US domestic markets. The incumbent will be accountable for ensuring compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Transportation Security (TSA), IATA, Department of Commerce and all regulations governing Transportation and Logistics. Responsible for the supervision of activities, processes executed by either indirect or assigned personnel relative to FTZ and or import/export activities. The position will be responsible for the Gurabo and Manati facilities and their related warehouses. Coordinates and executes at least an annual physical inventory of all merchandise in the zone. Must have the capability to trace all transfers back to a zone admission under a Customs authorized inventory method. This incumbent will be the main contact with Customs officers and the primary contact with Customs Broker for admissions, exportations and import compliance activities. Formulates and defines department's goals and objectives, and implements adequate plans to achieve them.

Qualifications


A minimum of an Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Material Management, Pharmaceutical Operations or Engineering is required. A Master's Degree is preferred. Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in materials management, transportation and logistics is required. Three (3) years of managerial experience is required. Working experience within the Pharmaceutical industry is required. Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), regulatory compliance, Supply Chain, Planning Process and Materials Management is required. Knowledge and understanding in the Foreign Trade Zone regulations (FTZ) and Logistics is highly preferred. Association of Operations Management, previously known as the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), certification is preferred. Proficiency in the use of ERPs systems, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet is required. Proficiency in the use of SAP is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Ability to establish positive interpersonal relations and interact with people effectively and work effectively under time pressure, achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts. Good communication, leadership, negotiation and, time and project management skills. Availability to travel twenty five percent (25%) of the time outside Puerto Rico is required. The incumbent must be able to work regular shifts and flexibility to change working schedule, working overtime and weekends according to business needs.
