The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will report to the Sr. Director, Channel Development. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail is responsible for leading channel strategy to achieve LifeScan's sales and share goals in national and/or regional accounts by providing steady leadership and focus while meeting LifeScan's strategic objectives. Distribution and channel priorities will be determined based on the needs as well as the priorities of our organization.
The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will focus on organization and talent development. They will also inspire and motivate the Channel sales organization. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will give constructive feedback on performance and create development opportunities for direct reports and team members (work with Training and Development team to do). They will give clear direction and hold direct reports and team members accountable for business and financial plan results. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will actively encourage and create opportunities for top performers to take new roles and move across Johnson & Johnson.
The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will actively collaborate with Marketing to shape the internal strategy and business plan as well as communicate VOC on an ongoing basis. They will consider the company's capabilities, strategies and brand-specific initiatives. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will monitor reports to assess business results and modify marketing/ sales plans accordingly. They will gain support for and implement new business initiatives, programs, and processes to enable further sales growth.
They will achieve Channel and Account Specific Business Plan Objectives manage the overall budget for sales and share forecast. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will work with accounts to create programs, initiatives, partnerships to achieve business objectives. In addition to that they will direct implementation of channel plans and strategies. The Director, Wholesale and Regional Retail will collaborate with Professional Sales, Managed Markets, Government and other sales functions to implement account specific strategies at a regional level. Other duties such as individual compliance training, administrative activities, communication with team, etc.
Qualifications
A minimum of a four year college degree is required, Bachelors. Advanced Degree preferred. A minimum of ten years of experience in sales and or in a marketing environment or related business experience is required. Experience in Channel or payer account management is required. Excellent oral and written skills are required. Leadership, proven sales, contracting and successful national accounts experience is highly preferred. Previous work experience with strategic analysis/creative problem solving, business judgment and financial acumen is a must. Experience in influence management and catalyst for change is preferred. Judgment mediation and conflict resolution skills are highly preferred. Managing, developing others, planning and organization skills are required. A minimum of 5 years of previous people management experience is highly preferred. This position will require up to 40% domestic travel.
