Rush University Medical Center presents an opportunity for a Nurse Educator for the Department of Professional Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatry. The Nurse Educator provides and coordinates care for specific patient care units. He/she promotes quality patient care by participating in performance improvement activities, development of nursing staff, and clinical practice. The Nurse Educator serves as a role model for other clinical nursing staff. He/she exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Develop effective strategies for changing clinician and team behavior to encourage adoption of evidence based practices.
Collaborate with leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement initiatives.
Establish constructive and strategic partnerships with peers, nurses, and other disciplines to achieve positive clinical and service outcomes.
Create an environment which establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication.
Qualifications:
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license required.
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. APN license preferred.
Minimum three years experience and advanced knowledge in a specialized area of clinical nursing.
National Certification required in area of clinical expertise.
