Rush University Medical Center presents an opportunity for a Nurse Educator for the Department of Professional Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatry. The Nurse Educator provides and coordinates care for specific patient care units. He/she promotes quality patient care by participating in performance improvement activities, development of nursing staff, and clinical practice. The Nurse Educator serves as a role model for other clinical nursing staff. He/she exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Further Position Highlights:

  • Develop effective strategies for changing clinician and team behavior to encourage adoption of evidence based practices.

  • Collaborate with leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement initiatives.

  • Establish constructive and strategic partnerships with peers, nurses, and other disciplines to achieve positive clinical and service outcomes.

  • Create an environment which establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license required.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. APN license preferred.

  • Minimum three years experience and advanced knowledge in a specialized area of clinical nursing.

  • National Certification required in area of clinical expertise.
