Description * To support the HSE Manager in implementation of the HSE Management System, and supporting standards, policies, procedures and plans, with a strong focus on health and safety management and compliance * To support the HSE Manager in ensuring all COP-Angola activities are operated in compliance with corporate standards and policies, Angolan regulatory requirements and international industry standards (as applicable) , for all matters relating to HSE Responsibilities (may include) This position reports to the HSE Manager and is responsible to: * Provide occupational health and safety support to Angola operations, as required * Support the development and implementation of the HSE Management System, and supporting standards, policies, procedures and plans, with a strong focus on health and safety management and compliance * Help ensure COP Angola operates in compliance with all relevant HSE legislation * Support HSE programs and initiatives in Angola * Support and advise on HSE issues * Support the HSE Manager, HSE team and all functions in the Angola business * Assist with all HSE-related compliance and reporting requirements, both internal and external * Demonstrate leadership on all HSE issues * Assist with all HSE communication and training for the BU Qualifications: Basic/Required * Bachelor of Engineering or Science (preferably in safety related discipline) or equivalent education and experience * Strong safety and occupational health background, preferably related to oil and gas * Demonstrated knowledge of general international HSE standards * Detailed knowledge of Angolan regulatory requirements related to HSE in the oil and gas sector * Strong organizational skills * Ability to work independently, on own initiative * Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications * Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines * Basic understanding of oil and gas drilling operations, preferably with 3-5 years experience * Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Portuguese and English Preferred * Recognized international certification would be beneficial (NEBOSH, CSP, etc) In order to be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the requisition closing date ofFebruary 12, 2013.
