Description

ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC) is currently looking for Engineering Data Lead to ensure that the structure, training, processes/procedures, and administration of the Engineering Data Management solutions manage the data in a format that will allow the Oil Sands Operations roles to access up to date and accurate information at all times. Initially, this role will be seconded to the Surmont 2 Project Information Manager to help understand what tools and data the S2 project will be delivering. This position will play a critical role in representing Operations during data turnover and to identify and develop the tools and processes that Operations will require to successfully receive and maintain the data.

Responsibilities
* Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC''s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken
* The overall implementation, execution, and usage of SmartPlant Enterprise (SPE) applications for Surmont Operations
* Ensure that the SPE implementation aligns to and complies with the Oil Sands Engineering Data Management standards (as per Surmont Information Management Advisory Team)
* Ensure and follow up that effective and best practice solutions for Design for Operations (DFO) are implemented to SPE
* Ensure correct transfer / interaction of data between SPE & other technical applications
* Liaison with Engineering Disciplines to ensure that SPE Tools are working properly in an integrated environment with SPE
* Liaison with Major Capital projects to ensure any data inconsistencies between operations & the Project are highlighted and reconciled so that Operations receives data and documents that meet operations requirements for SPE
* Assist engineering and document control with the audit and quality assurance of data turned-over from projects, leveraging SPE
* Support the design and set-up of SPE environments for new projects
* Support the re-use of an existing engineering design basis from Operations via SPE
* Lead application specialist resources in the support and enhancement of the SPE solution for Operations (i.e. Centre of Excellence)
* Ensure that user documentation and training program is developed, maintained, & delivered to ensure all appropriate personnel have the required knowledge
* Including initial & sustaining training
* Ensure corporate Documents and Records Management standards are met

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* 10 years of experience with information systems, data and document management process - emphasis on analysis and design methodology
* Knowledge of SmartPlant Enterprise applications and design tools are a requirement
* Knowledge of and experience with the engineering data lifecycle
* 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong computer skills (MS products - Word; Excel; Project; PowerPoint; SAP & LiveLink experience an asset)
* Legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions

* Strong communication and networking skills as well as ability to accomplish results through influence management
* Excellent organizational skills ability to prioritize responsibilities
* Team player, able lead a multi-disciplinary team
* Demonstrated problem solving skills

* Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with Operations and Technical staff
