Overview The L48 Business Unit is looking for Operations Geologists with a strong background in active development programs and supporting horizontal drilling operations. The operations geologists will work with others on the team including the development geoscientists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and service company contractors. Responsibilities * Preparing well plans, providing geological operations support during drilling and conducting after action review with the other members on the team including: * Understanding and following all safety procedures * Working within an extended multidisciplinary team to establish and achieve team goals. Key relationships include GG and RE in the Reservoir Characterization and the Asset Teams; drilling and completion groups, crews on the rig site and * all service companies * Planning wells with the asset Geologists, Geophysicists, RE''s and DE''s to drill safe wells as cost and time-efficiently as possible * Executing data acquisition plans and managing data and samples analysis plan * Selecting vendors and coordinating their work * Providing geological support during drilling operations. Maintaining excellent communication among team members to ensure safe and cost-effective decision are made during drilling * Integrating, evaluating and interpreting data as it flows from the rig to understanding stratigraphic position during landing and the lateral section * Capturing and sharing lessons learned and best practices Qualifications: Basic/Required: * Bachelor''s degree in geosciences * 3 years operations geology experience * 5 years of industry experience Preferred: * Petrophysical experience * Experience with active horizon well appraisal and development programs * Experience in unconventional resource plays * Ability to keep pace with an active drilling program and react to the dynamics as information changes our knowledge of unconventional gas resources * Proven track record of effective teamwork within a team of geoscientists and engineers * Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills * Initiative to work without constant supervision, displaying innovative skills in using the proper tools to effectively characterize reservoir potential In order to be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the requisition closing date ofMarch 31, 2013.
