Overview ConocoPhillips seeks a highly qualified and motivated individual to lead the Petrophysical analysis for L48 Business Unit efforts with an emphasis on low perm, lamininated, shaly sand geopressured reservoirs. Of particular interest is an individual who has experience integrating log, core, seismic and post-completion data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and abundant experience in Petrophysics and rock physics as applied in an exploration and production setting. Key Responsibilities ? The Petrophysicist may be responsible for the following job duties: * Performing Petrophysical Interpretation on a variety of development and exploration projects. * Utilizing many aspects of petrophysics such as petroleum geology, basic logging measurements and tool physics, reservoir engineering, core analysis, field studies for reservoir characterization, specialist logging measurements and interpretation. * Working with other members to carry out all stages of petrophysical data preparation including, loading, checking, depth- matching, editing, making environmental corrections and merging of logging runs. * Producing comprehensive computer processed interpretations for porosity and fluid content in addition to other formation properties such as lithology, clay content, mineralogy, permeability, fluid contacts and pressure regimes; utilizing logs and modeling to characterize the formation, based upon invasion processes. * Developing and applying field-specific interpretation models calibrated to core and test data. * Utilizing petrophysical data concepts to generate relations between reservoir parameters such as water saturation and height, porosity and permeability, and log response and lithofacies. * Participating in multidisciplinary teams and assisting team member in developing and understanding integrated geological, geophysical and reservoir flow models. * Interfacing with geoscience and engineering team members to provide conditioned logs and interpretation as input to quantitative geophysical interpretation. * Collaborating with asset team to post-audit actual well performance versus predicted petrophysical results. * Key contributor to the assessment of exploration project volumetrics. * Developing recommendations and justifications for data acquisition. * Mentoring Early Career and other staff to help raise the overall level of Petrophysical applications in ConocoPhillips E&P efforts. * Building a close working relationship with other COP Petrophysicists in E&P and Technology. Qualifications: Basic/Required:? * Bachelor''s degree in Petrophysics or Petroleum Engineering, or Geology or Geophysics, or Physics * 3 years experience in logging technology, including log acquisition, processing, and interpretation Preferred: * Legally authorized to work in the United States Master''s Degree Petrophysics or Petroleum Engineering, or Geology or Geophysics, or Physics. * 10 years experience in wide range of Petrophysical applications including logging technology, * log acquisition, processing, and interpretation Good communications and presentation skills. * Ability to maintain good relationships with team members. * Strong Mentoring skills and desire to effectively mentor staff at all levels * Carbonate interpretation experience. * Horizontal well logging design, application, interpretation and limitations. * South Texas and Gulf Coast experience. * Unix workstation and PC computer skills. * Familiarity with Geolog and Interactive Petrophysics software packages experience. * Strong Integration Skills with other subsurface disciplines * Must have a strong commitment to safety and promoting safe work practices.
