Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of recentRN Psych experience
- Two (2) or more years in a behavioral health setting, telephone triage support preferred
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school
- BSN preferred
- Current CA RN License
- Psychiatric & chemical dependency knowledge & ability to work w/ dual diagnosis patients
- Able to triage & evaluate various aspects of the psychiatric population
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, actions & side effects in an adult & pediatric population
- Child & family education & learning theory technique, preferred
- Group leadership skills, excellent verbal & written communication skills, including the ability to gather information & express empathy on the telephone, the ability to remain positive & helpful when very busy & w/ difficult patient population & the ability to multitask & prioritize work, preferred
- Computer skills to include data entry, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & HealthConnect, preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of computer software systems and basic keyboarding skills preferred.
- Previous Psychiatry/Mental Health experience.
Notes:
- Rotating Weekends
- Schedule Varies: Evenings (until 7:00 pm)
