Area Clinical Technology Manager
Sacramento, CA


This position administers Service Area-wide comprehensive and cost effective maintenance service program for all of the medical devices and associated systems and inter connectivity of those systems. This role also provides integrated managerial oversight and support for areas as defined by KFH and the medical groups. Local planning efforts by working with Medical Equipment Consultants, Project managers, the APICs (or appropriate medical group entities) and the IT Area Information Officer (AIOs). Aligning work with the Clinical Technology Plan implementations and the Capital Projects Teams when applicable to ensure that new technologies are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the technical and operational specs that have been defined. The person is also involved with communicating key deliverables, milestones and interdependencies. The key person for Clinical Technology related operational activities and serving as point of escalation when the support model is not functioning appropriately as well as serving as the Clinical Technology single point of contact to meet area priorities.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise assigned equipment service staff and assign service assignments.
- Provide oversight for all required regulatory compliance requirements.
- Attend and contribute at EH&S, strategic capital planning, major and minor facility project update meetings to include key meetings as needed with medical center senior leadership such as APICs for Technology, COOS, AIOs, AMGAs, SSAA, Service Area VPs, etc.
- Provide oversight for Regional specialty modality developing short and long term strategic plans to best meet KP healthcare delivery objectives.
- Manage HR/People processes including performance management, resource management, compensation and staff development.
- Attend Clinical Technology Regional meetings and development activities.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in leadership/managerial role, practical working knowledge of Biomedical Engineering devices and systems that tightly integrate with clinical, patient care systems.
- Ten (10) plus years of experience in a health care delivery, multi-hospital environment in a leadership/managerial role providing medical equipment and consultative services for hospital and medical office buildings (clinic), preferred. The position as either an employee or 3rd party service provider.
- BA degree or certification in Business, Biomedical, Clinical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Master's degree preferred (MBA, Health Administration).
- Professional certification as a Certified Clinical Engineer preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of OSHPD (In CA) and similar regulatory agencies practices / policies / procedures in other states.
- Knowledge of current and emerging clinical technologies.
- Good knowledge of Federal, State and local accreditation and licensing agencies (e.g., CAPS, CMS, The Joint Commission, and HIPAA).
- Must be able to work in very complex organization structures such as KP Labor management partnership environment.
