This position will provide actuarial expertise in audits of benefit liability valuations using applicable assumptions and participant demographic information. Performs annual projecting, forecasting, and recommendations to ensure SCPMG is in compliance with all regulatory requirements (i.e, Nondiscrimination testing, etc.)
Essential Functions:
- Provides consultation and clarification on actuarial models and risk issues, primarily to other members of the finance department. Collect data and perform nondiscrimination testing for SCPMG's qualified pension plans.
- Review SCPMG MD and employee data to estimate actuarial valuations in accordance with IRS Regulations and SFAS Nos. 87, 106 & 132.
- Conducts ad hoc actuarial analyses to inform and give input to various business decisions.
- Provides actuarial representation in system development.
- Develops and implements rating tools (spreadsheets, models, databases, etc.) to be used by finance to assist with actuarial information to produce revenue forecasts and financial reports.
- Presents findings of studies to senior management. May provide guidance and direction to lower level members of the actuarial staff.
- Assist audit team with audits and special projects, as necessary.
- Review data and asset reconciliations, individual sample cases, and liability results.
- Lead and/or participate in employee benefits and retirement audit/consulting project.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Four (4) + years of healthcare or employee benefits-related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or other closely related field.
- ASA
- Excellent team building, analytical and project management skills required.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
