A professional, experienced copy editor / writerwho is as comfortable editing someone else's words as you are filling a blank page with your own. Your goal: help us create bold, strategic, and persuasive business-to-business (B2B) marketing copy that furthers Kaiser Permanente's position as a health care leader - in print, online, and in presentations.

You'll join a team of skilled content experts, working closely with professional writers and internal business partners to ensure we're developing innovative content while maintaining our brand standards. Your role will vary between writing and editing depending on our team's daily needs, so it's crucial that you're able to smoothly transition between content development and editing.It's a challenging, fast-paced environment, so if you're curious and motivated, you'll never be bored.

This is a full-time, onsite position (40 hours; Monday through Friday) located in Burbank, California. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, paid vacation/holidays, and more.

Responsibilities

Write effective, compelling business marketing copy as needed
- Create outward-facing, benefit-rich marketing materials and Web content for the business audience, including brokers and employers
- Develop high-quality, error-free copy under tight deadlines
- Translate complicated ideas into easy-to-understand copy that follows our brand and style guidelines
- Smoothly incorporate data into marketing copy to provide credible proof for claims
- Translate language into graphics (USA Today-style) wherever possible
- Proven skill across a variety of mediums, including print, Web, email, and presentations
Edit marketing copy for direction, style, and voice
- Review print and online marketing copy for grammar, readability, style, and flow
- Edit for overall content and line-by-line word choice with Kaiser Permanente's brand, style guide, and B2B voice in mind
- Support writers in achieving marketing objective set forth by our internal clients
- Communicate your edits clearly and collaboratively to our team of professional writers
Collaborate with internal business partners
- Work closely with project managers, marketing services consultants, and internal business partners to understand their needs and translate them to effective marketing materials
- Have a strong understanding of the relationship between copy and design
- Skillfully influence peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas
- Set and meet deadlines in very busy department

Qualifications:

Requirements/essential skills
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years' experience editing and writing marketing copy; B2B experience and journalism background strongly preferred
- Superior copyediting skills - be able to hear the rhythm of the language and style
- Impeccable attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Curiosity, adaptability, good judgment, and teamwork
- Strong creative, analytical, and communication skills
- Familiarity with AP and Chicago style
- Medium to advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes
