Provide ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately delivers the prescribed, planned course of therapy with minimal supervision.
- Performs simulation/tumor localization procedures.
- Orders for care are scheduled, carried out and documented in the electronic chart.
- Educating the patient on the procedure prior to performing.
- Responsible for linear accelerator warm-up and daily QA checks.
- Take weekly portal images for treatment verification and have physician check.
- Take patient photos and treatment field photos and transfer to patient chart.
- Checks patient and chart identification, prepares the treatment room, sets up the immobilization devices, blocks, and tattoos patients.
- Assures that the patient is seen by Oncologist weekly and more often if recognizes signs of treatment complication.
- Observes and practices Radiation Safety Standards.
- Maintains equipment and notifies service representative of any problems.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience as Radiation Therapist.
- Experience on linear accelerators and simulators, use of a Record and Verify system.
- Four (4) to five (5) years of experience as a Radiation therapist preferred.
- Experience with Varian Linear accelerators with MLC, Varis Record and Verify system, and CT simulation is preferred.
- Experience with HDR, SRS and IMRT treatments preferred.
- Experience in the design and creation of blocks and immobilization devices preferred.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiation therapy program prior to the date of hire.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Radiation Oncology preferred.
- Must obtain a temporary Oregon license in Radiation Therapy prior to date of hire and must obtain a permanent Oregon license within three (3) months of hire date.
- Must be board eligible for ARRT(T) certification in Radiation Therapy and obtain ARRT(T) certification in Radiation Therapy within three (3) months of hire date.
- Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) month of hire date.
- Must be able to seamlessly administer radiation treatments according to the prescription and multi-task.
- Familiar with the use of immobilization devices.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- Possess excellent teamwork, organizational and customer skills.
- Good oral and written communication, analysis/problem solving and advanced computer skills preferred.
Salary Range:
$43.74 - $45.51
