Under indirect supervision will manage project coordination/development. Facilitate & monitor appropriate compliance, audit & QA processes to provide consistency throughout the Region for the practice of Pharmacy. Provide administrative support for the Pharmacy Coords, Mgrs & Admin Team. Assist in achieving all dept'l & reg'l info for progress reports; tracking of staff training & competency in regard to Pharmacy Policy & Procedure review; preparing for & completing outside agency accreditation surveys; review systems & human factors for the identification of causality & remediation.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively support staff to assist in accomplishing Pharmacy projects in Administration, Clinical Modules & Pharmacies
- Prepares, reviews & approves documents necessary for design, purchase of equipment & system changes
- Responsible for designs & decisions in the preparation of projects from inception to completion
- Oversees a wide variety of services requiring a high degree of skill in office methods & functions, including performance of general & complex administrative matters that involve direct responsibility & decision-making w/in scope of delegated authority
- Facilitate special dept projects as required
- Encourage & engage staff in promoting pharmacy best practices
- Assist in the development, communication & staff education of pharmacy initiatives
- Develop & maintain certain databases & in-service records of pharmacy personnel
- Organize & coordinate dept initiatives & projects
- Facilitate information flow between individuals and/or depts
- Respond to requests for information related to all aspects of project mgmt
- Assist in training of pharmacy staff in regional projects & processes
- Work closely w/ pharmacy personnel to complete all compliance & time requirements necessary to maintain safety & accreditation
- Assist w/ the preparation for outside agency inspections
- Initiative & analytical ability to research & prepare reports around pharmacy practice
- Demonstrate competence in utilizing the Intranet & Internet as a research tool
- Assist in the development & maintenance of electronic system to register & track pharmacy staff completion of competencies
- Evaluate medication safety practices & implement interdisciplinary practice improvements
- Effectively & efficiently work w/ interdisciplinary staff to implement quality improvement & medication safety initiatives
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis & Failure Modes Effects Analysis on issues identified for evaluation/education.
- Assess compliance w/ pharmacy initiatives, competencies & standardization of pharmacy practice
- Assist in the coordination & implementation of the Patient Safety Reporting System
- Analyze, track, trend & report the standardization of pharmacy practice throughout the region including legal & regulatory requirements
- Design & develop staff & patient educational materials to promote the practice of pharmacy
- Effectively collaborates w/ pharmacists, support personnel, nurses, clinicians, other health care professionals, members, & mgrs to improve efficient high quality care & to achieve positive improvement outcomes
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze systems, human factors, equipment, environmental & patient factors related to the practice of pharmacy & propose solutions
- Function as staff support to pharmacy mgrs & staff regarding project training & implementation

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Five (5) - seven (7) years of working in health care including Pharmacy and Administration
- Experience handling difficult encounters and or service breakdowns, preferred
- Project management; demonstrated effectiveness in handling simultaneous deadlines, preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in the use of the internet and KP intranet as a research tool, preferred
- BA/BS degree in health care sciences OR three (3) - five (5) years of experiences in a related field, preferred
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program OR minimum three (3) - five (5) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or ICPT -Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians)
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Technician Licensure in the State of Oregon or Washington
- Must possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong skills in personal computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database management
- Must possess analytical ability and knowledge of data analysis/database tools
- Working routinely with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and the Pharmacy Administrative Team, preferred
- Documented excellent attendance record, preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes Effects Analysis, preferred
- Thorough knowledge of organized healthcare systems, clinic operations and Kaiser Permanente Northwest organizational structure, preferred
- Must be able to handle stress relative to rush projects and meeting deadlines, work under pressure in a highly productive office, and set priorities, preferred
- Proven organization skills/abilities; ability to support implementation of departmental and organizational process changes, policies and procedures, and audits, preferred
- Working with and development of databases, preferred
Salary Range- $48,460.00 - $63,940.00
