DePuy Orthopaedics is the Joint Reconstruction business offering orthopaedic devices, solutions and supplies for hip, knee and extremity reconstruction, in addition to cement and operating room products.

The Supervisor Quality Assurance, 3rd shift, will support multiple functions with sound and timely decision-making by utilizing basic statistical and problem-solving tools. Coordinate investigation into quality issues as required and other special quality projects as assigned. Ensure that these systems and processes provide a measurable impact to quality, cost and customer value. Identify opportunities to continuously improve quality, cost and time factors, consistent with business objectives. Supervise Bargaining Unit Floor Inspectors. Participate in hiring process and trains and evaluates staff. Train and develop union hourly. Provide support to calibration laboratory. Develop calibration procedures. Arrange for internal and external calibrations. Manage gage non-conformity system. Work on quality assurance cost savings projects. Provide measurement consultation services to business partners. Develop/modify/implement departmental work instructions as needed. Procure capital measuring equipment used in quality labs. Provide leadership in test method validation process. Performs all job duties in full accordance with the Worldwide Policies on Information Asset Protection, maintain password (s) as Confidential, and protect Critical Business Information. Incumbent knows, understands, incorporates and complies with all applicable laws and regulations relating to DePuy's business activities and Policies and procedures of the Health Care Compliance Program or Code of C. Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement-conducts first step grievance meetings.

Qualifications


Minimum of a Bachelor Degree with 2 years of Quality Assurance (QA) experience OR minimum 4 years of QA experience with no degree required. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required; preferably in Medical Device industry. A minimum of one year supervisory experience in QA or Manufacturing required. Experience working with quality tools and equipment (i.e. CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, etc.) and personal computer required. Strong oral and written presentation skills required. Ability to direct a team in meeting departmental goals and objectives required. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects consisting of varying degrees of complexity required. Ability to analyze problems and apply practical solutions within a Union environment preferred. SAP experience is preferred. Blueprint reading is preferred. Ability to work 3rd shift, which is typically 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM is required. As the business needs change, the hours will vary and flexibility to work overtime, varying shifts or weekends may be required. Experience working in an FDA environment and/or with Unions preferred. ASQ certification and/or Process Excellence/Black Belt training preferred.
