Job Summary:  Supports department by facilitating the delivery of professional, specialized nursing care related to IV therapy for the comfort and well being of patients; utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide care, education and teaching related to IV therapy and vascular access needs; and by implementing medically prescribed interventions related to IV therapy in defined populations including Mission, Mission member hospitals, and other organizations where Mission’s services and care are provided.

Required Education: Associate’s Degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; BCLS.

Preferred License: None

Required Experience: One year of experience in IV access

Preferred Experience:  One year of Oncology experience. Experience in Central line care and access/deaccess of IVADs, and /or previous employment with vascular access team. Competency in PICC insertions.

This would be an ideal position for an Outpatient Infusion RN.  Experience accessing ports and proficiency in pheripheral sticks are essential for this position - No PICC placement experience needed.
