Provides expert strategic and tactical consultation on total direct compensation to support business strategies of Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement leaders, as assigned. As the compensation subject matter expert, proactively identifies compensation trends and complex issues, works cross functionally to develop creative solutions, and partners with senior business unit and HR management. Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compensation programs designed to meet company and business unit needs while being legally compliant, risk balanced, cost-effective, and aligned with business strategies. Reviews existing and proposed statutory compensation requirements and recommends appropriate course of action. Participates in development of rewards solutions for requirements related to governance, monitoring, and regulatory compliance. Develops and fosters collaborative relationships with other internal control function resources in Corporate Compensation, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Finance as appropriate. Compensation consulting responsibilities include leadership roles in: base and variable compensation design; incentive modeling and cost analyses; management of compensation related projects; development of communications materials, compensation tools and administration processes; market competitive assessments; analysis of relevant data utilizing quantitative, financial, and statistical tools; salary survey participation; job classifications; ad hoc reporting.
Basic Qualifications: 6+ years consulting experience in compensation, human resources, accounting or finance.
Minimum Qualifications: At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in compliance with proven ability to influence senior leaders and build strong partnerships.
Preferred Skills: Experience in Wealth Management, Brokerage, Investment Management, or Capital Markets. Considerable familiarity with design and administration of long-term incentive/equity programs. Charlotte is the preferred location. Commensurate technical knowledge, including significant market pricing and incentive/sales compensation design experience. Demonstrated success in large, complex organizations with multiple business segments and broad geographic reach. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking and analytical detail orientation skills. Excellent consultative and influencing skills, interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong business and financial acumen. Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
