The Network Technology Solutions team develops, defines, & delivers network infrastructure solutions that enable Wells Fargo''s lines-of-business to communicate with customers, partners, and applications with the reliability, performance, and efficiency commensurate with their respective business objectives. Develop new solutions for deployment in production based on Architecture requirements provide by Lead Network Planning and Architecture group. This may be project driven or architecture driven. Conducts technology and network assessments, including solutions to enhance or create new business opportunities, integrating multiple technologies. Serves as the highest level data/voice network consultant to internal clients and technical management in all areas of the business to ensure conformity with corporate network architecture. This position is directly aligned to provide Backbone and Edge solutions - which is on our strategic roadmap to increase business acuity through enriched integration of data & voice. Develops and maintain Network Deployment Guide or Solution Guides (DG) for assigned Domain Area (DA). a. Identify new products for EOS/EOL. b. Identify new products to support new MBOs (requiring new features) or to fill gaps. c. Document evaluation criteria. d. Develop and participate in POCs at vendor sites for new products and services. e. Develop Functional and Integration Testing at WFS lab for new products and services. Ensures new product / solution is supported end to end. f. Develop scripts and templates for new services (outputs to Network Engineering) g. Validates / proves out and refines high level architectural designs developed by planning. h. Defines Design elements, Statement of work to engage the NTEC (LAB) to establish new development environments for Solutions to be developed. (Provide Bill of materials hardware/software) i. Work with planning to obtain seed funding. j. Research and document industry best practices. k. Communicate development steps completed and action items. l. Consults with technical groups, users and/or vendors to identify and influence functional specifications and business/technical requirements. Proposes and creates conceptual network design/hardware reconfiguration and implementation methods. Plans and oversees network studies and traffic analyses. Oversees forecasts of network traffic and capacity. Design work is creative, unique, sophisticated and complex. m. Provides updates to the service catalog and add certified new equipment to release procurement for network engineers to order Preferred locations: AZ, MN, IA or NC. Will consider other locations.
Basic Qualifications: 10+ years network engineering experience.
Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex MPLS based transport networks Experience with Planning and Designing Production and Disaster Recovery network solutions Experience in Network Operations or experience in a role supporting complex environments Solid Project management skills to help drive solutions Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are a must. Experience in writing Deployment Guides, Configuration scripts and configuration templates Must be self-driven and able to work with little supervision and direction
Preferred Skills: CCNP Certification CCIE Level experience desired Expert understanding of the following technologies: MPLS, OSPF, BGP, DLSW, Spanning Tree, HSRP, VPC, QoS, NTP, Multicast, IPv6 Understanding, FCOE Understanding, Solid understanding of Network Management tools: NetFlow, Packet Capture, Device Configuration Management Incident Management Tools, Capacity Planning, SPAN/RSPAN Packet Capturing Solutions Some understanding of the following technologies desired: DWDM Technologies MPLS Traffic Engineering IOS-XR Configuration Development Draft-Rosen (Multicast over MPLS) Hands on experience with the following Cisco platforms: Cisco CRS Cisco ASR 9000 Cisco GSR 12000 Cisco 76xx routers Cisco Catalyst 6500
