Description

Perform duties as a member of an Army Regional Computer Emergency Response Team Pacific(RCERT-P). With other members of the team, ensure the survivability of Army computer systems and networks against attacks aimed at disrupting services, gaining unauthorized access, or violating the integrity of data on Army information systems. Perform functions related to the protection of Army systems, the detection of intruders or malicious code, and the response against cyber attacks. Proactively stay updated and understand security advisories, known vulnerabilities, and current security practices.

Individuals collect and analyze event information and perform threat or target analysis duties.
Provides operations for persistent monitoring on a 24/7 basis of all designated networks, enclaves, and systems.
Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with Computer Network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events.
Manages and executes first-level responses and addresses reported or detected incidents.
Reports to and coordinates with external organizations and authorities.
Coordinates and distributes directives, vulnerability, and threat advisories to identified consumers.
Provides daily summary reports of network events and activities and delivers metric reports.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Must have DoD TS/SCI clearance. Typically, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience or 6 years experience.


Preferred Qualifications: Technical certifications satisfying DoD 8570 requirements for IAT II (GSEC, Security +, SCNP, SSCP) and CND Incident Reporter (GCIH, CSIH, CEH).
