Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Medicaid Subject Matter Expert to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position is located in Woodlawn, Maryland. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Information Systems operating unit, an organization that serves the IT needs of federal, state, and local governments.
 
We are looking for dynamic, professional, team-oriented, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to interface with federal government clients. A strong preference is given to candidates with proven experience in large health plan administration especially Medicaid, CHIP, or other public health applications.  
 
Healthcare principles and processes eligibility systems, Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), Medicaid operations experience, and government sector environment experience is a plus.
 
Responsibilities
The Medicaid SME provides Medicaid business and technical expertise direction, performs business and technical functions for implementing the Medicaid enterprise, assists team in requirements validation and design, participates in collaborative sessions to document Medicaid business processes, resolves issues within and between business areas, and communicates status, issues, and risks to the Program Manager.
 
The Medicaid SME will review and respond to Federal Medicaid requirements, have an understanding of government-funded Health Care programs, exhibit knowledge of HIPAA transactions and code sets, have knowledge of national HIT initiatives and associated legislation, and possesses excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree and 10 years experience or Masters with 8 years experienced required

·         Minimum of five years of detailed experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or Private Healthcare claims processing, financial, or third party liability.

·         Five (5) years full-time experience as a business analyst or systems analyst in a Medicaid environment.

·         Two years of leadership managing a team in the performance of detailed analysis.

·         Have full life-cycle experience on a system implementation, including the development of interfaces to Medicaid data.

·         Demonstrated leadership, initiative, team oriented, self-motivated

·         Must be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder

·         Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust

 
Preferred Qualifications:

·         The ideal candidates will have Medicaid experience and knowledge of the following domains within a Medicaid system:

-         Claims Processing

-         Managed Care

·         Master's Degree preferred
