Northrop Grumman is seeking a Programmer Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to work with a team of business analysts, software developers, system analysts, testers, trainers, and managers to develop, maintain, and operate an important legacy state human services system. The position is located in Providence, RI. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health IT, Health and Human Services operating unit, an organization that serves the IT needs of state and local governments.
Duties:
The selected candidate will work closely with systems and business analysts to gather, validate, and document customer and system requirements. This position will require expertise in software development, maintenance and operations in some optimum combination of mainframe and web server environments, depending on skills and expertise. This role will work closely with technical team leads, state team and quality assurance staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of system modifications. The job may also include work within and across teams to enhance and maintain the current legacy system while designing, developing, and documenting the transitions to new applications and sub-systems.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have 2 years experience with a Bachelors or 0 years with a Masters (or equivalent experience without education)
Experience in one (1) or more of the following areas:
· Mainframe, client server, and/or web technologies OR
· Experience with database management systems, data dictionaries, data synchronization and conversion methodologies and procedures (for ADABAS, Oracle, and/or MS SQL) OR
· Programming and analysis experience with distributed processing systems, and integrated databases OR
· Strong understanding and experience with change management and quality assurance procedures in system development, maintenance, and transition activities OR
· Programming analysis and support for one or more of the following:
o IBM CICS ADABAS environment using COBOL and Natural programming languages on an MVS platform OR
o J2EE/JBoss including experience with open source frameworks such as Struts/Hibernate/Spring, Eclipse and CVS/Subversion OR
o Object-oriented analysis, and design/development of web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with and knowledge of human services programs
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment;
- Understanding of systems design and development processes
- Support for large scale critical systems
